European studio Mediawan has agreed to acquire Peter Chernin's The North Road Company, establishing a formidable global independent studio. The combined entity will manage approximately 100 production companies, projecting an annual production volume exceeding $2 billion across 15 nations. This significant move aims to create creative hubs on five continents, covering all genres and formats.
The transaction, subject to regulatory clearance, is anticipated to conclude by the first half of 2026. Financial details of the agreement remain undisclosed. Mediawan's CEO, Pierre-Antoine Capton, will lead the consolidated group, which will retain its Paris headquarters and governance structure. Élisabeth d'Arvieu will oversee global content strategy as Group Chief Content Officer.
