Maya Jama's Traitor Twist: Acaster & Fry's Surprise?

Maya Jama, a Traitor on the second series of Celebrity Traitors, has addressed her decision to recruit James Acaster and Hannah Fry. Initially chosen by host Claudia Winkleman alongside Richard E. Grant, Maya and Richard then selected Acaster, who had explicitly stated he did not wish to be a Traitor. Following Richard's banishment, Hannah was recruited.

Despite their efforts, Acaster and Fry have faced criticism from viewers for their gameplay, with some labelling them "boring." Maya herself offered them encouragement, humorously remarking on the need for more "killing." She later took to social media to clarify that she was unaware of their hesitations when agreeing to recruit them.

Fans have largely defended Maya, commending her for carrying the Traitor team since Richard's departure. The Traitors have thus far murdered Faithfuls Bella Ramsey and Amol Rajan, while Traitor Richard and Faithfuls Myha'la and Julie Hesmondhalgh have been banished. Other contestants, including Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Rob Beckett, remain at risk.
