Nebraska's head football coach, Matt Rhule, recently made a guest appearance on the HBO series 'Lanterns.' The coach portrayed himself, participating in a recruiting scene for a fictional high school quarterback, Noah Macon.
Macon's character, a descendant of a synthetic alien robot, was pivotal in the episode. Rhule's presence in the show involved him offering Macon a spot on the Nebraska team, symbolizing the character's choice of good over evil.
The filming took place in the summer of 2025 during Rhule's vacation time. This appearance was strategically aimed at promoting the Nebraska football program and expanding its brand recognition nationally.
