Matt Damon Regrets Skipping Indian Film

During a press conference in South Mumbai for "The Odyssey," actor Matt Damon shared his regret about not having worked with acclaimed Indian filmmaker Shekhar Kapur. Damon cited a missed opportunity about 20 years prior to star in Kapur's "The Four Feathers," a decision he described as a "20-year-old debt." He explained that he was committed to a "Bourne" movie at the time, preventing the collaboration.

Damon also spoke about his experience filming "The Odyssey," stating that the opportunity to play its complex character at such a grand scale with director Christopher Nolan felt like a chance to make a "David Lean movie." He highlighted the extensive global production, which involved thousands of people and filmed across Greece, Iceland, Morocco, and Italy. Damon praised the exceptional crew members assembled in each location.

He humorously remarked to producer Emma Thomas about the immense coordination required, likening the project to making six or seven movies simultaneously. Thomas reportedly stated they were prepared, having previously executed similar large-scale productions like "Dunkirk" and "Batman." Damon concluded by emphasizing the incredible collective effort and his gratitude for participating in the project.
