Summary
- Masters of the Universe earned $31.6 million domestically.
- Ne Zha 2 had a lifetime North American collection of $23.3 million.
- Masters of the Universe has grossed $56.6 million worldwide.
Masters of the Universe has outgrossed Ne Zha 2's lifetime collection in North America, marking a significant point in its domestic run. The film has garnered $31.6 million in North America, surpassing the $23.3 million earned by Ne Zha 2 in the region.
Despite this domestic victory, Masters of the Universe faces a stark contrast in global performance. Its worldwide earnings are currently at $56.6 million, a stark figure compared to Ne Zha 2's unprecedented $2.26 billion worldwide gross, making a global challenge for He-Man highly improbable.
The fantasy drama, released on June 5th, follows a young man's discovery of his alien prince legacy and quest to recover a magical sword. Directed by Travis Knight, its current box office trajectory suggests it may not reach the heights of its Chinese counterpart.
