- The film features a remote-operating criminal duo, Chiara and Jay.

Stanley Tucci leads Masterplan, a pulpy thriller about an elaborate attempt to steal the Mona Lisa from the Louvre. The film introduces Chiara, a cybersecurity hacker, and Jay, an explosives expert, who operate remotely as Europe's top criminals. They first meet during a mansion break-in on Italy's Lake Geneva, where their flirtation sparks.
However, their mentor, veteran thief Roger (Tucci), reveals they are siblings and have been set up for a complex heist. This decade-in-the-making plan involves drones, elaborate trickery, and a forgotten tunnel beneath the Louvre. The sibling revelation adds an unusual dynamic to their interactions as they relocate to Paris.
Directed by Thomas Vincent, Masterplan offers some spy gadgetry and plot twists, including a clever use of a helium balloon. While the characters remain thinly drawn, the film provides pulpy entertainment with action sequences and explosions, making its nearly two-hour runtime pass by as company for a casual viewing, though it may be quickly forgotten.
