Mary Stuart Masterson Joins 'Sunny' Mafia Thriller

Mary Stuart Masterson is set to star in the upcoming mafia thriller titled 'Sunny,' directed by Norwegian filmmaker Eva Sørhaug. Masterson joins an already impressive cast led by Angelina Jolie, with notable appearances also expected from Charlie Plummer, Jason Schmidt, and Cliff "Method Man" Smith. The film's narrative focuses on a formidable female gangster striving to shield her sons and herself from a dangerous, abusive drug kingpin.

Following a profoundly damaging incident, the protagonist finds herself with mere hours to orchestrate a permanent escape for her family. Written by William Day Frank, who developed the concept with Sørhaug, 'Sunny' is produced by Nathan Klingher, Angelina Jolie, Mark Fasano, and Jeffrey Greenstein. Gramercy Park Media, A Higher Standard, and Nickel City Pictures are among the production companies involved.
