Garfield and Stone's Spidey Secrets: Lies, Surprises, and Multiverse Mayhem

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been known for its constant expansion, both in theaters and on the Disney+ streaming platform. As of October 20th, 2025, fans who have been following the Marvel movies for years are well aware of the studio's notoriously tight security measures, even for those within the universe.

A prime example of this is the case of Andrew Garfield, who lied about his return as Peter Parker in the recent Spider-Man: No Way Home. Now, his former co-star Emma Stone has revealed that Garfield also lied to her about his involvement in the film.

When No Way Home hit theaters, fans were elated to see Garfield and Tobey Maguire reprise their roles as Spider-Man, alongside the current web-slinger, Tom Holland. The studio's strict security measures were at least partly responsible for keeping these major spoilers under wraps.

In a recent interview, Stone was asked about her character Gwen Stacy being honored in No Way Home, specifically when Garfield's Peter saved MJ in a way he had failed to do in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. However, Stone revealed that she has not yet seen the film, though she expects to do so eventually, perhaps when it finally arrives on Disney+.

As both Garfield and Maguire have now returned to their Spider-Man roles, fans are curious about the possibility of seeing them in upcoming Marvel Multiverse movies, particularly the next two Avengers films. While Garfield has responded cryptically to the speculation, he has not yet been officially confirmed for any future Marvel projects.
