Marvel's Letitia Wright and Director Aneil Karia Celebrated as HollyShorts London 2025 Trailblazers

The HollyShorts London 2025 festival will honor two acclaimed filmmakers as Trailblazers: Letitia Wright and Aneil Karia. Wright, globally recognized for her role as Shuri in Marvel's Black Panther franchise, has emerged as a powerful creative force behind the camera. Her directorial debut, 'Highway to the Moon,' premiered at HollyShorts Los Angeles to critical acclaim and will screen again at the London festival. The film is a layered exploration of violence, memory, and spiritual resilience, inspired by the real-life tragedy of a close friend's family member.

Karia, celebrated for his bold and emotionally resonant storytelling, has also been selected as a Trailblazer honoree. In 2022, his Oscar-winning short film 'The Long Goodbye,' co-created with Riz Ahmed, gained international acclaim after winning the Grand Prix at HollyShorts Los Angeles. Karia has recently completed his second feature, a modern adaptation of Hamlet, which premiered at Telluride and Toronto Film Festivals.
