A dedicated Marvel superfan from the U.K. has achieved a Guinness World Record for his extensive collection of tattoos featuring comic book characters. Tom Radford, 40, now holds the record with 63 Marvel character tattoos covering his body.
Radford's passion for Marvel began years ago, influencing even his dog's name, Stanlee. His first Marvel tattoo was in 2007, but his commitment significantly escalated in 2016. He estimates he has dedicated approximately 350 hours and spent around $25,000 on his body art.
Originally aiming for a Marvel-themed leg sleeve, Radford learned about the Guinness World Record when he was halfway through. At that time, the standing record was 31 tattoos. He has since expanded his collection to places he hadn't initially intended, all in pursuit of the record. Radford plans to break his own record within the next year, stating he still has room for more characters.
Radford revealed Thor as his favorite character but considers Spider-Man his ultimate hero. He has an immense appreciation for the franchise, having watched 'Avengers: Infinity War' over 250 times. The previous record holders were Ryan Logsdon and Rick Scolamiero, each with 34 Marvel tattoos.
