Tom Radford, a fervent Marvel enthusiast from Hull, has achieved a remarkable feat by breaking the Guinness World Record for the most Marvel comic book character tattoos. The 40-year-old now boasts 63 superhero images across the majority of his body.
This extensive collection represents a significant investment, with Radford spending upwards of £18,000 and dedicating 350 hours to the tattoo process. His journey began in 2016 with a tattoo of the villain Thanos, an experience that inspired him to pursue further body art. He has even met Josh Brolin, the actor who portrays Thanos, and added his autograph to the existing tattoo.
Radford works exclusively with local tattoo artist Andy Walker, with whom he has formed a close friendship. He admits to being addicted to the process, initially never intending to cover his entire body. The previous record holder had 31 tattoos, a number Radford surpassed during his decade-long endeavor. He intends to add Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, and Wolverine, leaving only his head, neck, and hands uncovered at his mother's request.
