Mark Consuelos disclosed on LIVE with Kelly & Mark that he has been missing a front tooth for approximately fifty years. The incident occurred in the fourth grade when he sustained a facial injury on an obstacle course. For several years, Consuelos wore a cap on the affected tooth.
Consuelos recounted an embarrassing travel experience where his temporary tooth, referred to as a 'flipper,' dislodged mid-flight. He managed to keep it from being swallowed during the five-and-a-half-hour journey from New York City to Vancouver for a filming commitment.
Kelly Ripa playfully commented on the situation, noting that while Consuelos has a "dazzling smile," the missing tooth significantly alters his appearance. She humorously added that their marriage vows, which include 'in sickness and in health,' now implicitly extend to 'dental health.'
Consuelos also revealed he has embraced going out without the temporary tooth, stating he "looked funny" but didn't care. Ripa added that he enjoys surprising people by removing the tooth. She also shared her own dental struggles, including jaw tension and nighttime teeth grinding, which led her to get Botox for her jaw.
