The U.K. and Ireland box office saw a powerful debut for Universal's "The Super Mario Bros. Movie," which grossed an impressive £14.9 million in its opening weekend. Following closely, Sony's "Project Hail Mary" moved to second place in its third week, accumulating a total of $29.1 million. Entertainment Film Distributors' "The Drama" entered the charts at third place with an opening of $2.9 million.
The mid-April movie schedule promises a varied lineup. Universal will release the romantic comedy "You, Me & Tuscany," directed by Kat Coiro and starring Halle Bailey and Regé-Jean Page. Vertigo Releasing is set to debut the horror film "Undertone." Additionally, Jim Jarmusch's "Father Mother Sister Brother" and Francois Ozon's "The Stranger" are slated for release.
