Maren Morris Lives in Producer Busbee's Former Home

Nearly seven years after the passing of beloved producer Busbee in 2019, Maren Morris is maintaining a deep connection with her "creative soulmate." In a recent interview, Morris disclosed that she now resides in Busbee's former home, which she purchased from his wife. This dwelling has become a sanctuary for her, preserving the memory of their creative partnership. She shared that the piano used to write "80s Mercedes" is still in the sitting room, and a photo of Busbee hangs near her Grammy. Living in his house provides her with a profound sense of safety and connection.

Busbee, born Michael James Ryan, was instrumental in shaping the sound of Nashville and worked with numerous artists across genres. He collaborated with Morris on her debut album, Hero, and other notable songs. Despite the emotional difficulty of listening to their work together, Morris feels Busbee would be proud of her latest album release. His legacy continues through the music he created and the lives he touched, including his wife and daughters. Busbee passed away in September 2019 at the age of 43, reportedly undergoing treatment for glioblastoma.
