Maren Morris Eager to Reunite with The Highwomen for New Album

In October 2025, country star Maren Morris expressed her enthusiasm for the possibility of reuniting with her fellow Highwomen bandmates Brandi Carlile, Natalie Hemby, and Amanda Shires to record a new album. The 35-year-old singer-songwriter described her experience working on the group's self-titled debut in 2019 as "magical," and said she would "love to" create another record with the supergroup when the timing is right.

However, Morris acknowledged that coordinating schedules has been the biggest challenge, as the four artists have been occupied with their respective solo projects. Carlile lives in Seattle, Shires recently released a new album, and Morris herself has been touring in support of her latest record, Dreamsicle. Despite the logistical hurdles, the friends have continued discussing the prospect of reconvening in the studio.

"Once we can all get a date on the books, I feel like we would knock an album out in two days because we have so much pent up," Morris told Us Weekly. The Highwomen, named as a tribute to the legendary country group featuring Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson, initially formed in 2019 to amplify female voices in the genre. Though time has passed, the bond between the artists remains strong, with Morris expressing how much she "misses them dearly."
