Summary
- Punha Shivajiraje Bhosale, a spiritual sequel, fails to impress
- Film has earned only 16.92% of its massive 13 crore budget
- Heading towards a disastrous theatrical run

On October 31, 2025, the Marathi film Punha Shivajiraje Bhosale, directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, was released with high expectations. As a spiritual sequel to the all-time blockbuster Mi Shivajiraje Bhosale Boltoy, the film was expected to replicate the success of its predecessor. However, the reality has been quite the opposite.
Over the past 13 days, Punha Shivajiraje Bhosale has failed miserably at the Indian box office. From its opening day, the film has been underperforming, never gaining any significant momentum. With a budget of 13 crores, the film has managed to earn only 2.2 crore net so far, recovering a mere 16.92% of its cost. This dismal performance has led the film towards a disastrous theatrical run, and it is expected to earn at most 10-15 lakh before concluding its run.
The failure of Punha Shivajiraje Bhosale has come as a shock, considering the success of the previous film in the franchise. The film features a talented cast, including Siddharth Bodke, Sayaji Shinde, Mangesh Desai, and others, but their efforts have not been able to save the project from becoming a major disappointment for Marathi cinema.
