Mansa, a platform focused on Black stories, is set to expand its vertical storytelling with 10 new original microdrama series this summer. Founded by actor-producers David Oyelowo and Nate Parker, the mobile-first platform initially launched during Black History Month.
The upcoming slate features diverse narratives, including a female-led flag football romance and an HBCU dance team romance. This expansion is part of Mansa's broader 2026 content plan, with all 10 microdramas developed and produced in-house by Mansa Studios.
Since its February debut, Mansa's initial vertical series have achieved over 6.5 million impressions and views within their first month. The founders emphasize their commitment to building an efficient system for developing and distributing micro-dramas at scale.
Mansa plans further growth through original content, licensing, and partnerships, aiming to broaden its library of vertical dramas, films, and television shows on its free, ad-supported streaming service.
