Mandira Bedi Speaks Out on Unfair Recasting in Cop Role

In November 2025, renowned actor and fitness icon Mandira Bedi revisited a past project where she played a cop, sharing a candid reflection on what happened behind the scenes. Bedi revealed that the role came to her in 2019, describing it as a "terrific part, layered, fierce, and full of grit." She recalled shooting the project in Goa and wrapping the schedule "on such a high."

However, months later, Bedi discovered that she had been replaced without any communication. "No call. No message. No courtesy of a conversation. Just quietly went ahead and shot the film with someone else," she wrote, describing the experience as heartbreaking.

Rather than dwelling on the disappointment, Bedi chose to move on with grace. "I gave myself one day to feel sad, I processed it, and then I let it go," she said. Reflecting on the experience, she added, "This happens in every business... sometimes you get treated poorly or unfairly for no fault of yours. But sometimes, the universe also does what it must to protect you from work that's not right for you, and from people who don't treat you right."
