Mandala Cultural Centre Hosts Dhaatu Navaratra Mahotsava 2025 with Captivating Kolata and Puppet Shows

The Mandala Cultural Centre, located on Kanakapura Road near Silk Institute Metro Station in Bangalore, is currently celebrating the Dhaatu Navaratra Mahotsava 2025 from September 22 to October 2. The event is attracting visitors from across the city and features several cultural highlights.

One of the key attractions is the inclusion of a Kolata evening on September 26. Kolata is a traditional dance form of Karnataka that involves rhythmic movements and the use of sticks, performed in a group. Another exciting event is the puppet show being held on October 1 and 2, which is sure to captivate audiences.

The Dhaatu Puppet Museum located within the Mandala Cultural Centre is also a major draw, showcasing over 10,000 dolls from around the world. These lifelike dolls transport visitors to a make-believe world, with a particular focus on the Nilu Gowri dolls of Karnataka that depict scenes from the Ramayana and Mahabharata.

Anupama Hoskere, the founder of the Mandala Cultural Centre, is a passionate advocate for preserving traditional arts. She won the Padma Shri last year for her contributions to puppetry, and her daughter, Prakruthi Hoskere, an architect, helps maintain the centre's little green world filled with dolls.
