Veteran Malayalam actor Mammootty's highly anticipated film 'Kalamkaval' has successfully completed the censor process, receiving a U/A 16+ certificate from the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film's production house, Mammootty Kampany, has shared the news along with a new poster, indicating that the release date will be announced soon.
According to reports, the makers are aiming for a grand theatrical release on November 27, 2025. However, an official announcement regarding the release date is expected in the coming days. 'Kalamkaval' marks Mammootty's first release after his recent break from work due to health issues. The actor has now resumed his work and is currently shooting for 'Patriot' in London.
Directed by Jithin K Jose, who also wrote the story for Dulquer Salmaan's 'Kurup', 'Kalamkaval' features Mammootty in a morally complex role opposite Vinayakan. Jibin Gopinath will also share the screen with the two lead actors. The film's screenplay is jointly written by Jithin and Jishnu Sreekumar, with Faisal Ali as the cinematographer, Prabeen Prabhakar as the editor, and Mujeeb Majeed composing the music.
