Mammootty's 'Kalamkaval' Box Office Slows

Mammootty's recent crime drama, 'Kalamkaval', directed by Jithin K. Jose, is showing signs of a box office slowdown as it enters its second week. On Thursday, December 18, 2025, the film garnered approximately Rs 50 lakh in Kerala, bringing its total India net collection to an estimated Rs 34.80 crore. The film recorded an overall 14.36% Malayalam occupancy on the same day.

Mammootty's intense portrayal of a serial killer has been well-received by audiences, with Vinayakan's performance as a police officer also earning positive responses. However, the declining box office numbers suggest that 'Kalamkaval' may soon be heading for an Over-The-Top (OTT) release.

In contrast, the Dileep and Mohanlal starrer 'Bha. Bha. Ba.' made a strong debut, collecting Rs 6.75 crore in India net on its opening day, largely due to the significant buzz surrounding Mohanlal's involvement. The film's fate with family audiences over the weekend remains uncertain due to mixed reviews.
