Mammootty spent approximately 20 minutes with the bereaved family.
During his time at the palace, Mammootty conveyed his sympathies to Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi and met other prominent members of the Sharjah royal family. These included Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi and Sheikh Faisal bin Khalid Al Qasimi. The UAE had declared a three-day official mourning period for Sheikh Mohammed bin Salem Al Qasimi.
Mammootty's visit occurred while he was in Sharjah for a stage show. He was accompanied by producer Anto Joseph and businessman V.T. Salim. The actor has a long-standing and warm relationship with the UAE.
In other news, Mammootty is preparing for 'Padayaatra', his fourth film with director Adoor Gopalakrishnan. The movie trailer was recently released, showing Mammootty as a doctor facing scrutiny. This marks Gopalakrishnan's return to directing after a decade, with their previous collaborations including 'Anantaram' (1987), 'Mathilukal' (1990), and 'Vidheyan' (1994), the latter two earning Mammootty National Awards.
