Headlining their offerings is "Because of You Ka Kui," a feature documentary focusing on the life of Wong Ka Kui, the iconic creative force behind the Canto rock band Beyond. This intimate portrait is produced by Yip Sai Wing, a founding member of Beyond, and directed by Rosa Pang.
The studio's diverse lineup also includes a curated collection of Indonesian library titles, spanning genres like horror with the "Mata Batin" and "Doll" franchises, alongside critically recognized dramas, romance films, and comedies. New Southeast Asian features include Malaysian director James Lee's "Next Stop, Somewhere" and Teng Bee's urban drama "KL Love Story." Vietnamese contributions feature Trấn Thành's romantic film "Bunny!!" and Đinh Tuấn Vũ's horror "The Hermit Crab."
Abnormal Studios is further presenting a comprehensive Cambodian selection, including action horror "What the Darkness Keeps" and several other titles exploring themes of love, loss, and local legends. Additionally, the company is actively seeking pre-sales and co-production partners for upcoming projects such as "An Angel Lurks on the Streets of Kyoto" and the LGBTQ action drama "Thaiwan Boyz." Several Taiwanese vertical drama series are also in development, including supernatural horror and romantic drama.
As a subsidiary of Westec Media Limited, Abnormal Studios has a significant distribution track record, having handled over 400 titles since 2020 across various Asian territories and Oceania, releasing approximately 100 films annually.
