Mohanlal, who is considered a legend in the Malayalam film industry, took to social media to express his delight at this recognition. "Honoured and delighted to share that #Thudarum is an official selection at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in the Indian Panorama category," he wrote.
Alongside Mohanlal's 'Thudarum', Tovino Thomas' film 'ARM' has also been chosen for the prestigious Best Debut Director competition at IFFI 2025. This is a significant achievement for the Malayalam film industry, as 'ARM' is the only Malayalam film selected for this category out of the five Indian films chosen.
The 56th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is scheduled to be held from November 20 to 28, 2025, in Goa. The Indian Panorama section, which 'Thudarum' has been selected for, is a flagship component of IFFI that aims to promote the best of contemporary Indian cinema and the country's rich cultural heritage.
