Malavika Mohanan's Mumbai Home: A Slice of Kerala

Actress Malavika Mohanan's Mumbai residence is a vibrant tribute to her Kerala heritage. Designed by her parents, the home intentionally avoids a generic appearance, instead embracing elements that reflect their artistic passions and cultural roots. Visitors are greeted by a distinctive red floor, reminiscent of Athangudi tiles, a feature Malavika particularly cherishes.

The living space is adorned with an intricate Tanjore painting, personally acquired by Malavika and her mother from a craftsman. A small temple, designed with Kerala temple aesthetics, was the first area planned for the home. Nearby, an antique brass 'Vilakku' lamp, a family heirloom for 15 years, adds a sense of continuity and reverence.

Malavika also highlighted the abundant greenery, with three balconies filled with plants collected during family travels. While her parents tend to the plants, Malavika cherishes the calming natural views in her busy Mumbai life. Recently, she shared her experiences of filming in Chennai for 'Pocket Novel,' directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja, and the subsequent feelings of loneliness upon returning to an empty room in Mumbai.
