Mainframe Studios, a Vancouver-based animation company, has entered into a strategic partnership with global franchise management firm Cookbook Media. This alliance is designed to enhance the development, production, distribution, and commercialization of Mainframe's intellectual properties.
The partnership will concentrate on a comprehensive review of original projects to ensure they align with audience demand and have long-term franchise potential. Mainframe's original development slate will be packaged and positioned for greenlights through various financing structures, while also aiming to generate additional revenue from its existing content library.
Key initiatives include developing brand collaborations, global consumer products, publishing, and experiential extensions, alongside digital-first strategies. The upcoming CGI series, "The Immortals & The Shadow Realm," is a flagship project for this pact. Horror-comedy "Ghost Town" is also slated for promotional efforts.
Michael Hefferon, President and CCO of Mainframe, highlighted the importance of an integrated commercial strategy for building and owning original IP. Claudia Scott-Hansen and Rob Bencal, co-founders of Cookbook, emphasized their shared vision with Mainframe to build enduring franchises from the earliest stages of development.
