The upcoming Magh Mela in Prayagraj will transcend its spiritual roots to embrace a vibrant cultural dimension. The Uttar Pradesh department of culture is orchestrating a two-day cultural festival on January 4 and 5, featuring a lineup of celebrated national artists.
This cultural extravaganza, held at the Ganga Pandal, will present a rich tapestry of folk and classical music and dance. Headlining the event on January 4 is Padma Shri Malini Awasthi, celebrated for her Awadhi and Bhojpuri folk performances. The evening will also include diverse acts from Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Lucknow, showcasing traditional arts.
January 5 will feature Sufi singer Mamta Joshi from Chandigarh, alongside classical and folk performances, including Dhrupad singing and Diwari-Pai Danda dance. The initiative seeks to position the Magh Mela as a national stage for India's artistic heritage, merging spiritual devotion with cultural festivity.
