Taylor Sheridan's latest series, The Madison, has achieved a significant viewership milestone, attracting 8 million global viewers within its initial ten days. This debut marks the most successful original series launch to date for the acclaimed creator on Paramount+. The series premiered on March 14 and also achieved the largest freshman season launch among women aged 35 and above for Sheridan.
The Madison centers on the Clyburn family, who relocate from New York City to Montana for a transformative experience. Starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell, the series explores themes of grief. This represents a notable tonal shift for Sheridan, moving away from the crime and action prevalent in his other Paramount+ dramas.
Despite a mixed critical and audience reception, with Rotten Tomatoes scores of 60% and 74% respectively, the show has already secured a second season renewal. This success comes as Sheridan prepares to transition from Paramount to Universal starting in 2029.
