Madhu Malhotra, an actress recognized for her contributions to Hindi cinema in the 1970s and 1980s, died on Friday in Mumbai at the age of 71. Malhotra was featured in Subhash Ghai's commercially successful 1983 film 'Hero,' which included popular songs like 'Lambi Judai,' a melancholic track notably performed by Pakistani folk singer Reshma.
Throughout her career, Malhotra appeared in more than 100 films, frequently taking on minor roles and cameos. She was a regular collaborator with director Subhash Ghai, appearing in films such as 'Vishwanath' (1978), 'Karz' (1980), and 'Vidhaata' (1982). Her filmography also includes roles in Mohan Bhakri's horror movies, including 'Khooni Murda' (1989) and 'Roohani Taqat' (1991). In the 1982 hit 'Satte Pe Satta,' she was paired with actor Paintal, and some may recall her energetic presence in the song 'Mausam Mastana.'
