The Korean original series "Made In Korea" has officially become Disney+'s most-viewed Korean premiere in the Asia-Pacific markets for 2025. This achievement is based on viewership figures gathered 28 days after its December 24th debut. The crime noir drama is set in 1970s Korea.
The series stars Hyun Bin as Baek Kitae, a Korean Central Intelligence Agency operative who leads a double life as both a government agent and a smuggler. He uses his illicit activities to climb the agency ranks, generate funds, and protect his brother. His rise is challenged by an incorruptible prosecutor, portrayed by Jung Woosung.
"Made In Korea" also features Woo Dohwan as Baek Kihyun, Kitae's brother. The show was written by Park Eunkyo and Park Joonseok, and directed by Woo Minho, with Hive Media Corp serving as the production company.
Disney+ has already greenlit and commenced production on a second season, confirming the renewal at a 2025 preview event. This success concludes a notable year for Disney+ in the region, which saw the release of more than a dozen APAC original series.
