The Macallan has released a new whisky inspired by the James Bond film, Diamonds Are Forever, as part of its 60th Anniversary series. This unique bottling commemorates the 1971 film, particularly the character's appreciation for fine wines.
Distilled in 2007, a deliberate reference to 007, the whisky was aged in hybrid casks made from European and American oak. The American oak casks previously held red wine, further enhancing the connection to the film's theme.
The unveiling took place at an exclusive event on The Macallan property. Guests enjoyed sips of the new whisky, and the venue was decorated with props from the film, including Blofeld's mini submarine and a Honda ATV.
Musician Finneas performed a set of his solo songs for attendees. He recently won an Oscar for his collaboration with Billie Eilish on the James Bond song "No Time to Die."
