The festivities are scheduled for Sunday, May 24th, from 12:00 to 18:00 BST. Carnival executive producer Steve Pascal stated the event is "where it should be" and aims to be more sustainable, accessible, and affordable. This year's carnival will also focus on developing young DJs and offering free activities for families.
Marilyn Gearing, who participated in the first Luton Carnival in 1976, shared fond memories of the inaugural event, describing a cycle race, a concert, and thousands of people enjoying the day. She also recalled her involvement in a 1990 parade representing the Samaritans, noting the large crowds lining the streets.
