George Kay, the acclaimed creator of "Lupin," is set to deliver a new cat-and-mouse thriller for ITV, titled "Gone." This suspenseful drama features David Morrissey as Michael Polly, a seemingly upstanding headmaster of a prestigious private school who finds himself the prime suspect in his wife Sarah's vanishing. His meticulously ordered life is disrupted by the arrival of the determined Detective Annie Cassidy, portrayed by Eve Myles.
The series draws inspiration from the experiences of former Gloucestershire Police Detective Superintendent Julie Mackay and ITV Crime Correspondent Robert Murphy, both of whom are serving as consultants. Directed by Richard Laxton, "Gone" promises a compelling narrative exploring themes of privilege and prejudice within the quiet sprawl of Bristol, a foreboding forest, and the school itself.
This project marks a reunion for Morrissey and Kay, who previously collaborated on ITV's "The Long Shadow." Kay's impressive portfolio also includes "Hijack" and the upcoming HBO-Sky legal thriller "War." "Gone" is a co-production between New Pictures and Observatory Pictures for ITV, with All3Media International handling global distribution.
