The adaptation is set in a world where weredogs, witches, and humans coexist. The story follows Lumine, a weredog, and Kody, an antisocial witch boy, as they navigate dangerous secrets and unforeseen challenges. The series is set to be presented at the Annecy Festival Mifa market in France from June 23-26.
Screenwriter Bryan Q. Miller, known for his work on 'He-Man and the Masters of the Universe' and 'Smallville,' will serve as showrunner and co-writer. This collaboration aims to translate Emma Krogell's cherished webcomic into an animated format for a worldwide audience, emphasizing the story's emotional resonance and themes of belonging.
The 'Lumine' webcomic has seen significant global reach, translated into multiple languages and published in graphic novel volumes. This animated adaptation follows other recent Webtoon Productions projects, including 'Lore Olympus' with Prime Video, highlighting the company's expansion into animated adaptations of its most popular franchises.
