AI video generation startup Luma has partnered with Wonder Project to establish Innovative Dreams, a new production company dedicated to advancing filmmaking through artificial intelligence.
This collaboration's inaugural project is the upcoming series "The Old Stories: Moses," featuring British actor Ben Kingsley and scheduled for release on Prime Video this spring. Innovative Dreams aims to merge seasoned filmmakers with Luma's AI technologies to realize ambitious creative visions.
The company's innovative approach involves real-time collaboration using Luma Agents, tools designed for comprehensive creative tasks across various media. This allows for instant modifications to sets, props, and the integration of human actor footage, offering a distinct advantage over traditional post-production processes.
Luma founder and CEO Amit Jain highlighted that generative AI can make filmmaking faster, cheaper, and more efficient without compromising quality, addressing soaring Hollywood production costs. Wonder Project, co-led by director Jon Erwin and former Netflix executive Kelly Hoogstraten, aims to serve a global faith and values audience.
Innovative Dreams will employ a novel "real-time hybrid filmmaking" method, blending performance capture and virtual production live and more economically with Luma's tools. This process allows actors' performances to be seamlessly integrated into photorealistic generated environments or even transformed into entirely new digital characters.
