Actor Luke Grimes: I'm Not a Real Cowboy!

Luke Grimes, celebrated for his portrayal of Kayce Dutton in Yellowstone, has candidly addressed fan perceptions regarding his profession. Grimes, who has embodied the cowboy character since the series' 2018 debut and continues in the spinoff Marshals, often encounters fans who are genuinely perplexed by his off-camera identity.

He revealed that some fans, deeply invested in the show's narrative, express disappointment that the cowboy life depicted isn't entirely real. Grimes humorously points out that his acting career allows him to participate in the show, unlike a real cowboy who would be tending to cattle.

This confusion extends to his personal life, with Grimes sharing that his one-year-old son finds his cowboy hat amusing, though he enjoys visiting the set. The immersive experience of Yellowstone prompted Grimes and his wife to relocate from Los Angeles to Montana.

However, their move has not been without its challenges, as Grimes noted that some Montana residents are unhappy about the influx of people inspired by the show. He recounted an incident where friends visiting from California found a "go back" message scrawled on their car. Due to such encounters, Grimes now guards his exact location in Montana.

Grimes also shared on a podcast that he avoids public spaces like bars in Montana, as some individuals seek confrontations. Despite these social hurdles, he expresses a lack of FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out), finding contentment in quiet activities like thinking, reading, and watching films.
