Doncic Fights Child Support Case in Wrong Country
21 Mar
Summary
- Luka Doncic argues child support petition was filed in the wrong country.
- He claims he is not a California resident, nor are his daughters.
- Doncic states he filed a petition in Slovenia before his ex-fiancée.

NBA star Luka Doncic has requested a judge to dismiss a child support and attorney fees petition filed by his ex-fiancée, Anamaria Goltes. Doncic contends that the petition, lodged in California, is procedurally flawed because Goltes, their daughters Gabriela and Olivia, and Doncic himself are not residents of the state.
Goltes relocated to Slovenia, their home country, in May 2025 with their elder daughter and has remained there since the birth of their second daughter in December 2025. Doncic has submitted his own petition in Slovenia concerning child support and custody, asserting he already covers all expenses for both children.
This legal dispute arises amid their separation, which was revealed earlier this month. Earlier in the year, Doncic had sought an injunction to see his daughters after Goltes' relocation. Reports suggest a family rift occurred during his visit to Slovenia for Olivia's birth, leading to police involvement at the maternity hospital amid a dispute over Gabriela's return to California.
Doncic, currently playing for the Lakers on a three-year contract worth $165 million, acknowledged the challenges of balancing his professional career with personal drama, stating that basketball provides him with peace.
