Singer-songwriter Lucy Dacus has unveiled her latest musical offering, "Planting Tomatoes," marking her first new song release of 2026. Initially available as a Record Store Day exclusive on April 18, the track officially landed on digital service providers on April 24. The release is accompanied by a distinctive lyric video, self-filmed by Dacus in Tokyo, which presents lyrics in a shopping list format.
Dacus' most recent solo album, Forever Is a Feeling, was released in March 2025. In addition to her solo work, she is a member of the acclaimed trio Boygenius with Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker. Their debut album arrived in 2023, earning them significant recognition, including three Grammy Awards. This year, Dacus is scheduled to commence a North American tour. In a notable partnership with the Ally Coalition, she will donate one dollar from every ticket sold to organizations dedicated to supporting young queer and trans individuals.
