In Lucknow, a 30-day Production-Oriented Theatre Workshop organized jointly by the National School of Drama and Immense Art and Cultural Society concluded on September 30th, 2025, with a grand theatrical showcase at the Sant Gadge Ji Auditorium. The finale featured stage adaptations of four celebrated stories by eminent Rajasthani writer Vijaydan Detha, including 'Jhoothi Aas', 'Anek Hitler', 'Lajwanti', and 'Kheer Wala Rajya'.
All four productions were prepared and performed by the participants of the month-long workshop. In just 75 minutes, the audience was taken through the diverse worlds created by Detha's powerful stories. From the false hopes nursed by villagers under a feudal lord to the idea of 'many Hitlers' resurfacing in modern times, and from the sensitive storyline of 'Lajwanti' to the symbolic satire in 'Kheer Wala Rajya', the workshop showcased the depth and versatility of Detha's literary works.
The theatrical showcase marked the culmination of the collaborative effort between the National School of Drama and Immense Art and Cultural Society, providing a platform for the participants to bring these celebrated stories to life on stage.
