The London Symphony Orchestra has appointed John Harte as its next Managing Director, a role he will assume following the departure of Dame Kathryn McDowell at the end of the summer. McDowell has held the position for two decades.
Harte joins the LSO with a strong background, having served as Chief Executive of the Aurora Orchestra since 2009. During his tenure, he was instrumental in developing Aurora into a highly successful and innovative arts organization in Britain.
With the orchestra established in 1904 and currently resident at London's Barbican, Harte expressed his enthusiasm for working with the players, staff, and collaborators to further enhance the LSO's artistic achievements.
