From creator Sterlin Harjo, "The Lowdown" follows citizen journalist Lee Raybon, portrayed by Ethan Hawke, as he navigates the gritty underbelly of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Raybon's relentless pursuit of truth, particularly concerning the powerful Washberg family, plunges him into a dangerous investigation.
Season one saw the publication of Raybon's exposé on the Washbergs, quickly followed by the suspicious suicide of Dale Washberg. This event propels Raybon to follow a trail of clues left by Dale, urging deeper scrutiny into his death.
The acclaimed Western noir series, which also featured Keith David, was recognized by the AFI Awards as a top TV program of 2025. Production for its second season is currently underway in Tulsa, Oklahoma, following its renewal in January.
"The Lowdown" is executive produced by Garrett Basch, Ethan Hawke, Ryan Hawke, Duffy Boudreau, and Scott Teems. Sterlin Harjo also wrote and directed episodes in the first season. The series is produced by FX Productions and available for streaming on Hulu.
