Love Islander Amber Davies Joins Strictly After Dani Dyer's Ankle Injury
27 Sep, 2025
Summary
- Amber Davies, Love Island winner, gets last-minute Strictly call
- Dani Dyer, another Love Island alum, forced to withdraw due to ankle fracture
- Davies to perform waltz to Adele's "When We Were Young" on Saturday's show

In a surprising turn of events, Love Island season 3 winner Amber Davies has been brought in to join the cast of Strictly Come Dancing after Dani Dyer, a fellow Love Island alum, was forced to withdraw due to a fractured ankle.
Just last Thursday, Davies had posted a TikTok video expressing uncertainty about her Strictly future, saying the day could go "one or two ways" - either she'd get the call to join the show, or she'd be spending the weekend with her niece. Eight hours later, Davies received that call, and is now set to make her Strictly debut this Saturday.
Dyer, who won season 4 of Love Island UK, had been slated to dance with pro Nikita Kuzmin. However, she revealed earlier this week that she had suffered a fall during rehearsals and fractured her ankle, making it impossible for her to continue on the show. Dyer expressed her heartbreak over having to withdraw, but said she looks forward to cheering on the other couples.
Davies and her new partner, Kuzmin, will be performing a waltz to Adele's "When We Were Young" during Saturday's live broadcast. Dyer has wished the last-minute pairing, as well as all the other Strictly contestants, the best of luck.
