The proposal occurred at Signor Vineyards, a location significant to the couple as they had celebrated their six-month anniversary there. Planning for over six months, Bergie aimed for a surprise proposal, successfully keeping the timing and location secret from Taylor.

Bergie, 26, shared that their relationship has navigated significant challenges, including long distance and other personal obstacles. Despite these hurdles, their connection deepened through constant communication, including daily video calls. He emphasized that Love Island USA was life-changing because it led him to Taylor, expressing how difficult it is to imagine life without her.
