Love Island Star Awarded MBE by Prince William for Revenge Porn Advocacy

On October 8, 2025, former Love Island contestant Georgia Harrison was honored with the prestigious Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) award by Prince William at an investiture ceremony held at Windsor Castle. The 30-year-old was recognized for her efforts to tackle "online privacy and cyber crime awareness" after being the victim of a revenge porn case involving her former partner.

In June 2025, Harrison was first listed for the royal recognition on the King's Birthday Honours List. The conviction of her former partner, Stephen Bear, who was sentenced to 21 months in prison for sharing an intimate video of the two on the subscription site OnlyFans, had propelled Harrison into advocacy work for women's digital rights.

As she received the award, Harrison expressed her gratitude and excitement, revealing that Prince William had closely followed her story. "I really was hoping that he might be one of the people who was giving it and, you know, I had really found when I was receiving the award, that he took such a genuine interest in everything that I'd done, been following my story, and that really meant a lot to me," she told reporters.

Harrison vowed to continue her campaigning, stating, "And if anything, this is going to be something that really drives me to continue to evoke change for women everywhere, and I'm really grateful to be given such responsibility."
