Love Is Blind Budget Cuts Send Couple to Malibu
11 Feb
Summary
- Vic and Christine were sent to Malibu instead of Mexico.
- Their lack of unresolved connections contributed to the decision.
- Budget constraints limited the number of couples followed.

In Love Is Blind season 10, a departure from the norm occurred as engaged couple Vic and Christine were sent on a private honeymoon to Malibu rather than joining the other couples in Mexico. This decision was influenced by their strong, seemingly resolved connection, which offered fewer dramatic opportunities for group segments.
Creator Chris Coelen explained that the purpose of the Mexico trip is to resolve lingering issues. Vic and Christine's straightforward engagement meant they had no unresolved threads, making them ideal for a separate storyline. This allowed other couples with more dramatic potential to receive greater focus.
Financial considerations were also a primary factor. The show typically follows five or six engaged couples. This season, seven couples were followed, which the creator admitted was a budget stretch. The decision to send Vic and Christine on a solo trip helped manage costs, as extending the group trip to Mexico for seven couples was financially unfeasible.
