Lou Gramm, the distinctive voice of Foreigner, has unveiled his latest studio album, "Released." This collection features ten songs that were decades in the making, originally recorded around the time of his 1987 solo album "Ready or Not" and 1989's "Long Hard Look." Gramm decided to complete these unfinished tracks, noting their enduring freshness and attitude.
The album showcases a mix of rockers and ballads, co-written with bassist Bruce Turgon. Musicians featured on "Released" include guitarist Vivian Campbell and bassist Tony Franklin. "Released" came out last Friday and revives songs like "Young Love" and a new rendition of "True Blue Love." The latter, originally an uptempo rocker, is presented as an acoustic piano version on the new album.
Gramm is set to embark on a tour with his band, which includes his brother Ben on drums, to perform material from "Released" as well as hits from his solo career and Foreigner. This release coincides with Foreigner's 50th anniversary, a period marked by their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024.
