Original sketches for Birmingham's famous giant bronze bull sculpture, 'The Guardian', have been uncovered in a surprising find. These working drawings by the late sculptor Laurence Broderick were discovered tucked away under a bed at his home in Cambridgeshire.
The collection includes 14 signed A2 sketches, each dated July 2001, featuring Broderick's own annotations pointing to the chosen design. This chosen design was later transformed into the 4.5m long bronze statue erected in 2003 outside the Bullring shopping centre.
