Two-Time Eurovision Champ Loreen Launches Acting Career

Loreen, the celebrated Swedish artist, has announced a significant career transition into acting, following her historic achievement as the first woman to win the Eurovision Song Contest twice. Her recent album, WILDFIRE, marks her first studio release in nine years, but her focus is now shifting to the big screen.

Loreen's acting debut is in a film produced in her home country, Sweden. She described the immersive nature of acting, noting how the brain struggles to differentiate between reality and performance, and how emotional scenes can impact one's physical well-being. She expressed a desire to star in superhero roles with positive outcomes.

Originally gaining fame in Sweden at 20, Loreen first appeared on 'Idol' in 2004. She later released her debut single in 2005, reaching ninth place on the Swedish charts. After presenting a TV show and producing reality TV segments, she returned to music.

Her first attempt at Eurovision was in 2011 via Melodifestivalen, but she qualified the following year with 'Euphoria.' Her 2012 win in Baku garnered significant viewership in Sweden and abroad, with 'Euphoria' charting at number three in the UK.

In 2023, Loreen competed again with 'Tattoo,' overcoming a stage invasion during her performance to secure her second victory in Liverpool. This win matched Ireland's record with Sweden's seventh Eurovision triumph.
