Lord Doom's New Name Revealed for Avengers: Doomsday

Marvel Studios has confirmed a significant update for its upcoming film, Avengers: Doomsday, revealing a new title for Robert Downey Jr.'s portrayal of Doctor Doom. The character will officially be known as Lord Doom within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This revelation comes via officially licensed Funko collectibles, which showcase the antagonist with his new designation. The title 'Lord Doom' strongly suggests a connection to Victor von Doom's established royal lineage and his rule over the fictional European nation of Latveria. This detail could offer valuable insights into the character's role in the highly anticipated movie.

The merchandise also depicts Lord Doom in a distinct green military-style uniform adorned with gold detailing, deviating from his traditional metallic armor while retaining his iconic mask. Avengers: Doomsday, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and written by Michael Waldron, Stephen McFeely, Chris McKenna, and Erik Sommers, is slated for a theatrical release on December 18, 2026. The film is expected to feature a vast ensemble cast facing a major multiversal crisis.
