The rights to Patrick Radden Keefe's latest book, "London Falling: A Mysterious Death in a Gilded City and a Family's Search for Truth," have been acquired by A24 for television development. This competitive acquisition precedes the book's publication date of April 7. Published by Doubleday and Pan Macmillan, the novel recounts the true story of Zac Brettler, a London teenager who died under perplexing circumstances in 2019.
Following Zac's death, his parents uncovered his hidden identity as the billionaire son of a Russian oligarch. Their subsequent investigation into his life and death pulls them into the secretive, darker elements lurking beneath London's affluent exterior. Keefe, an executive producer on the series, previously explored the story in The New Yorker in 2024.
Keefe is recognized for his National Book Critics Circle Award-winning work "Say Nothing" and his executive producer role on the Emmy-nominated FX limited series. He also executive produced the Netflix series "Painkiller." This adaptation marks the second of Keefe's books to be developed by A24, following "The Snakehead."
